Dr. John Bennett kicked off his arrival to the area by appearing in the Stand Up for America Day parade in Port Wentworth. He joined the Effingham Family Medicine team last month, and said he is excited to be out and about meeting people from around the community.

“This was a nice event, and it was good to see so many people turning out to honor veterans,” Bennett said. “It was like the 4th of July in April.”

Bennett joins EHS as a board certified practitioner of internal medicine. He also has a keen interest in occupational medicine and will serve as the physician leader for the Effingham-Chatham-Bryan program, which will relocate soon from Rincon to Port Wentworth.

Bennett received his medical training from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, after receiving a bachelor of civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1988.

“I completed my internship and residency requirements at Memorial in Savannah, so I’m already familiar with the area,” Bennett said. “After living in the metro Atlanta area for several years, I look forward to working with the Effingham Health System team of medical service providers.”

Bennett’s office is behind Zaxby’s at 7306 Highway 21, Suite 105 in Port Wentworth. Appointments can be made by calling 966-2575.
