IDA OKs office lease with its newest firm

For a short time, Effingham County’s newest industry will be setting up shop in the Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Development Authority building. IDA members approved a lease with Chinese firm Xingfa for temporary office space at the IDA’s headquarters in Springfield. Xingfa, which makes phosphates, signed an agreement with the state and the IDA to build a production facility and place its U.S. headquarters in Effingham County.

Effingham County commissioners honored local youth athletes Tuesday, recognizing the GRPA state champion softball team and state track meet finalists with a proclamation declaring Aug. 9 as “Effingham Champions Day.”
