Temcor, the world's leader in geodesic dome and clear span roofing design, manufacturing and erection, is set to begin erection of a 110-foot diameter dome over Vopak tank 12 at the Savannah Terminal of the Georgia Ports Authority.

The tank stores petroleum product used at the Savannah Terminal.

Manufacturing was completed in Rincon this week and Temcor field construction crews will be in town to start the work on Monday.

Temcor domes are made primarily of aluminum and are used in a variety of petroleum, water, wastewater and bulk storage tankage as well as for architectural applications such as churches, sports arenas, swimming natatoriums, museums, and theatres.

The company has been manufacturing in Rincon since February 2001.
