Effingham County Sheriff’s investigators are continuing to follow leads on a missing person case from 2005.

Robert Mack was reported missing in September 2005 and Thursday, investigators called in a cadaver dog into Effingham County from Villa Rica to assist in the search.

Tracy Sargent, along with her K9 Cinco, assisted deputies in Thursday’s search in areas of north Effingham County.

Sargent holds dozens of certifications and is also the team leader for the Georgia Body Recovery Team. K9 Cinco is a certified and experienced cadaver dog.

So far, investigators have interviewed several people, but there are still no signs of Mack.

“There have been very few leads into the investigation but our investigators have been following all tips and leads since 2005,” Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie said.

Anyone with information is still urged to contact Effingham County investigators or they may call Crime Stoppers at 234-2020. A cash reward is available.
