Rincon Police have arrested several people on a number of drug-related offenses following three different incidents.
Between April 13-20, the Rincon Police Department arrested Julie Marie Livingston, 20, of Bloomingdale; Drayan Markell Bartley, 32, of Rincon, Dwight Jarnel Williams, 26, of Rincon; and Jonathan O’Neil Gaines, 33, of Clyo.
On April 13, Rincon Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Bartley and occupied by Gaines. An alert police officer observed a clear plastic bag containing a large amount of cocaine in the automobile.
Both Bartley and Gaines were transported to the Effingham County Jail and Bartley was charged with trafficking cocaine and Gaines was charged with possession with intent to distribute. Bartley was also wanted on a violation of probation warrant.
Williams was arrested April 15 by Rincon Police after he was found to be in possession of a large amount of marijuana and scales used to weigh the marijuana. Williams was taken to the Effingham County Jail and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
On April 17, the Rincon Police Department arrested Livingston in front of the Movie Gallery video rental store after she was reported to be approaching patrons of the Movie Gallery, asking if they would like to purchase the prescription drug Xanax.
Upon the arrival of Rincon police officers, Livingston was found to be in possession of 90 Xanax tablets.
Livingston was placed under arrest for possession with intent to distribute Xanax and transported to the Effingham County Jail. Livingston is cooperating with law enforcement and more arrests are expected.
A total of nine adult drug arrests and one juvenile drug arrest have been made since April 1, and more are expected.
