Two arrested, one on the loose

Effingham County Sheriff's deputies arrested two people and are looking for another person after an incident Tuesday afternoon.

A deputy on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle that he believed was involved in another crime. As the deputy approached, a passenger fled on foot in a wooded area off Clyo-Kildare Road. Drug investigators responded and found a methamphetamine lab, a firearm and other drug related items.

Deputies arrested Jessica Green, 27, of Rincon, and Johnathan Sheffield, 24, of Sylvania for a variety of charges. They are searching for Richard Myrick, 24, of Springfield. Anyone with knowledge of Myrick's whereabouts is asked to call the ECSO at 754-3449.

Two men were arrested Tuesday in Eden after a domestic dispute led to a standoff. Deputies say George Driggers, 47, threatened his girlfriend and law enforcement with a gun, then barricaded himself inside a home. His father, Alford Driggers, 80, was also charged for allegedly threatening deputies.
