Heather Martin, a junior at South Effingham High School, was recognized by the Effingham County Board of Education for designing the logo that will be used across the state for career academies.

“The board and the county were so very excited to find out about receiving our career academy grant, and then we found out we also had the student who designed the logo for the new career academies,” Superintendent Randy Shearouse said.

Career Technical Agricultural Education Coordinator Evonne Mobley said Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle selected Martin’s entry himself out of all the statewide entries.
