ECMS students recognized at regional science fair

The Savannah Ogeechee Regional Science and Engineering Fair was held in Savannah from Feb. 24-26. Five students from Effingham County Middle School participated in the fair.  

They are Hunter Payton, Cameron Porter, Cassidy Blewett, Bryce Blewett and Derek Hendrix.

The following students received awards in a ceremony held Feb. 26. Cassidy Blewett received “The Pulse of the Planet” award from NOAA and qualified for the state competition. Bryce Blewett received the Georgia Tech Energy and Transportation Award and a $50 cash prize. Hendrix received “Best in Category” in the Junior Division for Environmental Science and qualified to go to the state competition. The state science fair will be held in Athens from April 2-4.
