Local students named to presidents, deans list for fall 2008 semester

Valdosta State University 

The following area students have been named to the fall 2008 dean’s list at Valdosta State University in Valdosta:  
Kelly Erin Harper of Guyton
Megan Kathrine Pearson of Guyton
Joel Philip Pittsley of Springfield

To make the dean’s list, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and must have a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 with at least nine hours of course work. Grade point averages are based on a 4.0 scale.

Berry College

Robert George Lang has been named to Berry College’s fall 2008 dean’s list, according to Dr. Katherine M. Whatley, Berry College provost.

The dean’s list honors students who post an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.

Lang is the son of George and Mechelle Lang of Springfield. He is majoring in history.

Mercer University

James Joshua Coleman of Guyton has been named to the dean’s list at Mercer University for the fall 2008 semester. Coleman is a sophomore in the College of Liberal Arts.

Bailey Brianne Elliott of Guyton has been named to the president’s list at Mercer University for the fall 2008 semester. Elliott is a junior in the College of Liberal Arts.

Eric Michael Reid of Rincon has been named to the dean’s list at Mercer University for the fall 2008 semester. Reid is a sophomore in the School of Engineering.

Heather Marie Rowe of Rincon has been named to the dean’s list at Mercer University for the fall 2008 semester. Rowe is a junior in the Tift College of Education.

Kristin Lynn Reid of Rincon has been named to the dean’s list at Mercer University for the fall 2008 semester. Reid is a junior in the Stetson School of Business and Economics.

Stephanie Kate Sanders of Guyton has been named to the president’s list at Mercer University for the fall 2008 semester. Sanders is a sophomore in the Tift College of Education.

Inclusion on the list requires students to meet rigorous grade-point-average standards specific to their school within the university.
