Locals graduate from Georgia Tech

ATLANTA — The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 2,700 undergraduate and graduate students during its 246th commencement exercises.

The graduates included two local students:
Devan Goforth of Bloomingdale, bachelor of science in mechanical engineering
Gerald Robinson of Rincon, bachelor of science in electrical engineering.


Armstrong graduates from VSU

VALDOSTA – Emily Hale Armstrong of Rincon recently graduated from Valdosta State University with a bachelor of science in nursing.

Armstrong was one of more than 750 students recognized during fall 2013 commencement for meeting the qualifications for graduation.


Jones earns president’s list honor at LeTourneau

LONGVIEW, Texas — Caleb Jones of Springfield was recognized for outstanding academic accomplishments by being named to the fall 2013 president’s list at LeTourneau University.

Jones achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average to receive the honor.

LeTourneau University President Dale A. Lunsford said being named to the president’s list is a significant academic achievement and honor.

“LETU students are among our nation’s best,” Lunsford said. “I’m especially impressed with these honor roll students. Expect them to have a significant impact on our future.”
