The Effingham County Board of Education is sponsoring a family night for students in the ESOL program and their parents.

The spring meeting for ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students and parents will be April 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Blandford Elementary School in Rincon.

Effingham County School System Testing Coordinator Wendy Porter will discuss what to expect when parents receive their student’s ACCESS scores next month.

Librarian Bea Saba will share details about the Effingham County Library’s summer program and Marian Hodge, owner of Teach Right, will have a special activity for children and tips for summer activities.

Free books, pizza and dessert will be provided, and door prizes will be given out.

A registration form for the ESOL meeting is available on the front page of the school district’s Web site, www.effinghamschools.com. Parents are asked to complete the form and return it to their child’s ESOL teacher.
