Mrs. Connie Carter’s fifth period math class at South Effingham Middle School proved recently that math can be both fun and educational. This particular group of seventh graders presented a show and tell for special guests on May 5 using various stations. At each station, they summarized much of what they’ve learned this year.

Visuals — including informative posters, geometric name art, real-life scenarios, mobiles, etc. — were displayed for guests to see.

Students manned each station, orally sharing mastered standards and concepts as they related to real-life situations.

The words to a popular pop song were revised and transformed in such a way that the lyrics revolved around the GPS and math terminology. Some of Mrs. Carter’s students also learned a dance routine and presented a dramatic interpretation in song and dance form.
