Effingham Theatre is bringing the stage to life with a time-honored classic.

“A Christmas Carol” was originally written by Charles Dickens and edited for the stage by Effingham Theatre’s Jonathan Thompson. The group is in rehearsals and Thompson said the cast is performing wonderfully and everything is coming along just fine.

The cast has begun rehearsals of entire sections and will begin making complete run-throughs starting Nov. 7. Ticket sales are reported to be going well with only a week to go and some entire tables of seven already have been sold for the Nov. 20 and 21 productions.

Deadline for purchasing tickets is Nov. 5 so that meal preferences can be ordered. Patrons will have their choice of chicken or beef at this dinner theatre production where even the servers will be dressed in period costume and will speak in English accents.
