Mr. and Mrs. David Deason are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Marie Deason, to Steven Craig Baumann Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Baumann of Jekyll Island.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Green of Savannah, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Price of Statesboro, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Deason of Sylvania and the late Mr. Wray Akins. She is a 2006 graduate of Effingham County High School and a 2010 graduate of Ogeechee Technical College with a diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fleuren of Nashville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Baumann. He is a 2003 graduate of Glynn Academy. He served four years active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps, completing two tours in Iraq, and was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal. He is currently a student at Valdosta State University, majoring in Criminal Justice.

A wedding is planned for May of this year.
