Mr. and Mrs. Danny Hamsley of Haynesville announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Kate Hamsley, to Max Crawford Lang, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lang of Springfield.  The wedding is planned for June 20, 2009, at St. Stephens Anglican Church in Athens.  

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late William J. Hamsley and the late Corine Hamsley of Haynesville and Lt. Col. Robert J. Sharpless (ret. U.S. Army) and Patricia Sharpless of Villa Rica.  

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Lt. Col. George A. Lang (ret. U.S. Air Force) and the late Mary Enecks Lang of Springfield and Joan Crawford Chambers and the late Virgil D. Chambers of McDonough.

Max and Amanda are graduates of the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia where they both received undergraduate and Master of Science degrees in wildlife and forestry.

They will make their home near Estill, S.C.
