Mrs. Tammy Jo Smith and Mr. Jeffrey Smith of Effingham County are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Troy Neal Smith, to Emily Lauren Milner, daughter of Mrs. Margie Milner and the late Barry Milner of Elberton.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Thomason of Elberton and Mrs. Jane Milner and the late Mr. Dudley Milner of Griffin. She is a graduate of Elbert County Comprehensive High School and a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance. She is employed as a staff accountant with Colonial Group Inc. of Savannah.  

The groom elect is the grandson of Mr. Larry Gaddy and the late Sandra Gaddy of Sunbury and Mr. and Mrs. Huron Smith of Rincon. He is a graduate of Effingham County High School and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental soil science. He is employed as a staff scientist with Environmental Services Inc. of Savannah.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 23, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Elberton.
