The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Coastal Georgia Affiliate is hosting a free concert featuring singer and songwriter Candy Coburn on Thursday at American Legion Post 135 on Bull Street in Savannah.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the concert will start at 8 p.m. The concert is open to those 21 and older and the first 200 ladies to arrive will receive free “Pink Warrior” T-shirts.

Coburn wrote the song “Pink Warrior” in memory of her grandmother who lost her fight with breast cancer. The song is an anthem for all women who have battled, and continue to battle, breast cancer. The song “Pink Warrior” can be downloaded from iTunes and is also available for purchase on Coburn’s Web site, www.candycoburn.com.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from sales of the song will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Born in Kentucky, Coburn is a country girl with a rocking sound. She recently recorded a CD with major Nashville producer, George Scaife. The CD is expected to be released later this year. She has also released singles off of her CD “Rev It Up.”

Through events like the Komen Coastal Georgia Race for the Cure, the Komen Coastal Georgia Affiliate has invested in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in eight counties. For more information, call 232-2535 or visit komencoastalgeorgia.org.
