Domestic disturbance leads to three arrests

SPRINGFIELD -- Just after 8:30 a.m. Friday, the Effingham County Sheriff's Office received a call of a domestic dispute involving a gun and possibly a gun shot.

 The suspect left the residence in a Blue Tahoe. Deputies observed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. 

The  driver, William Anthony Taylor 34, failed to stop and led deputies on a pursuit. Taylor eventually crashed at Meldrim Road and Hwy 80 and fled on foot. 

Deputies set up a perimeter and called for K9 and a drone to assist in the search. Deputies soon discovered that the suspect may have been picked up and taken out of the area. 

The vehicle used to transport Taylor, a black BMW, was being occupied by Caroline Lewis, 41, and James Moseley, 37. The vehicle was found to have drugs in it. Both the occupants were also arrested and are facing drug charges.

Taylor is charged with felony fleeing to elude and numerous drug and weapons charges.

Lewis and Moseley have both been charged with possession.

 More charges could be pending.
