SAVANNAH – A Savannah woman died Sunday after the bicycle she was riding collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by an Effingham County man.

Theresa Mae Moultrie, 56, was pronounced dead at Memorial Health University Medical Center after the 10:16 a.m. crash on Bay Street, according to the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department.

Moultrie attempted to cross West Bay Street at Tuten Street and rode her 10-speed bicycle in front of a 2003 Dodge Durango driven by Tyrone Mungin, 32, of Rincon, said SCMPD spokesman Julian Miller.

“At this point, nobody has been charged,” Miller said.

No other details were provided. The SCMPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate, Miller said.
