Burn center patient upgraded

Augusta — Three patients who were injured in the Feb. 7 Imperial Sugar refinery explosion in Port Wentworth continue to receive medical treatment at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.  

One patient has been upgraded to good condition and is receiving occupational and physical therapy in the Doctors Hospital Rehabilitation Unit.  Two patients remain in critical condition in the Joseph M. Still Burn Center.  

The burn center initially received 20 patients injured in the Imperial Sugar explosion.  Five patients died as a result of their burn injuries; 12 have been discharged.
