The Effingham Chamber of Commerce’s drive has brought in 27 new members, one renewal and two members upping their involvement to members of distinction level, Chamber Executive Director Rick Lott said.

After the first week of the membership drive, two teams won awards. The Home Run Hitters were Marian Hodge, Ashley Boyette and Elaine Spencer, who made the most calls. Michael Murphy accepted the prize for most individual calls made, won by his wife Marie Murphy.

The Chamber has a goal of 60 new members, and the campaign closing lunch meeting will be held Friday at noon at the New Ebenezer Retreat Center to announce results and award prizes.
