Citizens Bank’s new office in Port Wentworth will open for business Monday according to an announcement by Michael T. Lee, president and CEO.

The office is at 7224 Highway 21.

The 3,800 square foot office has five drive-in lanes, a drive-up ATM, a lobby and parking. An additional 3,800 square feet on the second floor is unfinished and available for future expansion.

Kieffer Construction Company of Springfield was the general contractor and BMW Architects of Savannah designed the facility.

Lisa Mosley, who joined the staff of Citizens Bank earlier this year, will be the office manager. Mosley most recently managed BB&T’s branch office in Rincon following 24 years with SunTrust Bank in Savannah.

“As far as we know, Citizens is the first community bank to be located in Port Wentworth,” Lee said. “This is a growing area and we’re excited to be here. Our goal is to build long term relationships with our customers through individual, personalized service.

“And just as important, we want to be a good corporate citizen by having our bankers involved in the community.”
Harry Shearouse, chairman of Citizens Bank, echoed Lee’s remarks.

“We are delighted to be a part of west Chatham County and the Port Wentworth community,” he said. “It is growing in a hurry with the development of Waterford Shoppes which is located adjacent to our new office.”

Shearouse credited the late Tom Triplett for helping the bank expand into Port Wentworth. A former mayor and longtime state representative, Triplett was one of the organizers of Citizens Bank and served on the board of directors until his death in 2006.

“We are recognizing Tom’s distinguished record of public service and his dedication to our banking family with a portrait in the new banking office.

“Because of the efforts of Tom and many others, we are proud to have this fine facility to serve the banking needs of a growing community,” he said.

Citizens’ new office has lobby hours from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Hours are extended on Friday with the lobby open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Drive-in lanes open Monday thru Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays, the drive-in is open from 8:30 a.m.-noon.

A grand opening is planned for Aug. 3 with complimentary refreshments, entertainment, kids’ games and much more including door prizes and tours of the new office.

Founded in 1998, Citizens Bank has assets surpassing $205 million and operates offices in Springfield, Rincon and Guyton, in addition to the new Port Wentworth location.
