A workshop entitled, “Thinking of Starting a Business,” will be held in the evening during October. The workshop is two and a half hours long and will begin at 6 p.m.

It will take place on Oct. 25 and will be held in the conference room of the Small Business Assistance Center at 111 E. Liberty St. in Savannah. The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center and the Service Corps of Retired Executives sponsor the event.

If you are thinking of starting a small business, then taking this workshop is a crucial first step. The workshop will cover the basics of business startup including the traits of successful entrepreneurs, market research, legal structures for business, estimating start-up costs and cash flow projections, financing alternatives, failure factors and business planning.

Attending the workshop may be one of the most important decisions you make prior to opening your business. A detailed workbook and other resource materials will be provided.

The cost of the seminar is $40 per person if you pay prior to the day of class. Registration is $50 the day of the class or at the door. A discount is available for business partners or spouses.
