Commissioners fill slots on IDA

A former chairman of the Effingham Industrial Development Authority is returning the board after county commissioners approved five appointments to the IDA last Tuesday evening. Chap Bennett, who served on the IDA as a selection from the city of Rincon, is being returned to the board as one of the five commission picks.  But one of the selections for the IDA board drew opposition from Chairman Dusty Zeigler and another former IDA member. Zeigler and Arthur Rud, whose term on the IDA ended in December and who was not returned to his seat, voiced objections to the selection of Dick Knowlton to the IDA.  For the complete story, see Tuesday's print edition of the Effingham Herald.
