Hines Avenue
Disorderly conduct
When officers arrived to Hines Avenue on a medical call, they found a highly intoxicated woman standing outside her residence. An officer asked the woman several times as to what her medical emergency was. She said that she got a bloody nose after mixing her blood pressure medication with alcohol. The officer asked the woman several times to stop using profanity and to stop screaming threats. After the woman was checked out and released by EMS, she was then arrested for disorderly conduct and was taken to jail.

A Springfield woman stated that someone took her barbecue grill. The woman stated that she has no idea who took the grill but will call the sheriffs office when she finds out.

Theft by taking
A Springfield woman said that when she and her husband went to bed, their car was at their house. But when her husband woke up to go to work, he noticed that the car had been stolen. The woman also said that her mother was the last one to use the car and that she left the keys in the car.

Reiser Road
Fire (grass/woods)
Police responded to a call requested by the fire department in reference to an illegal dumping sight that had been set on fire. The fire had spread to the woods. The witness stated that the person who owns the property was going to sell it to his mother. The owner said that he was going to clean up the area but instead set the area on fire.

Theft by taking
A Rincon man was lying on his couch when he heard a loud noise and what appeared to be a loud truck driving away from his property. He stated that when he walked out, he noticed that someone had taken his Dish Network satellite by clipping the two wires.

Theft by taking
The complainant told police that he was watching his neighbor’s house when he noticed that their four-wheeler was missing from under the garage when he was watering the yard. He contacted the neighbor.

Old River Road/Bay Road
Traffic accident
Deputies were dispatched in reference to an accident on Old River Road at Bay Road The driver of the vehicle was unable to be located upon arrival to the scene. At approximately 3 a.m., an officer noticed a subject in the area of the accident. The two deputies identified the subject as the driver of the vehicle. The man had blood and several cuts to his body. Officers transported him to the jail where he received four citations and then was released. The man admitted to driving the vehicle and running the stop sign.

Theft
The complainant told police that he and his crew delivered a microwave to the partly constructed building in the morning. When he came back that afternoon, he discovered that someone had stolen the microwave.

Reedsville Road
Abandoned vehicle/road hazard
An officer discovered an abandoned vehicle with its left bumper sitting just over the fog line. The right rear tire was flat and appeared to be abandoned. No registration was present, and the officer advised the Effingham County dispatchers to run the registration by VIN which came up with a name. The officer requested a tow truck that came and picked it up.

Highway 119/County Way
Traffic accident
A deputy was dispatched to Highway 119 South in reference to an auto accident. When the deputy got there, he saw a silver Honda overturned in the ditch. Upon reaching the vehicle, he made contact with the driver, who was still suspended in her seat by her seatbelt. The woman stated that she was OK. When the officer opened the driver side door, he smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. When the woman was taken out of the car, she refused treatment from the EMS unit. While speaking to the woman, deputies noticed that her eyes were bloodshot and her speech was slurred. The woman was placed under arrest for DUI and taken to the Effingham County Jail. When her vehicle was turned over, officers found an open Miller Lite beer can that contained some beer and was cool to the touch. The woman received citations for DUI over 21, open container and failure to maintain lane.

Victory Drive
Damage to property
An officer met with a man at the entrance of Eagles Landing subdivision. The man showed the officer where someone had busted the glass out of two of the carriage lights located at the entrance to the subdivision. He also showed where two of the lights were completely ripped from the entrance wall. The man stated that two were damaged the night before, and the other two were damaged sometime within the last week. The man doesn’t know who might have done this but did want the incident to be reported.

Courthouse Road
Theft by taking
An officer interviewed a man concerning a theft. The man stated that he parked and locked his work trailer in his driveway upon returning from work. When the man went back outside, he discovered that someone had cut the lock off of his trailer and removed a miter saw and a compressor. No other items were missing from the trailer.

Georgia 404
Abandoned vehicle
While patrolling the Effingham County section of Highway 404, an officer observed a maroon Prism parked in the emergency lane. He made a check of the vehicle through Effingham County Dispatch. The tag came back for suspended for no insurance. The officer had the vehicle towed to a storage yard.

Burke Drive
Theft by taking
A woman stated that during the past week, unknown persons entered her residence and dismantled a computer taking the CD drive. She also believes that at the same time the person took her sister’s purse and all of its contents.
