Effingham County drug investigators made two arrests and seized a pound of marijuana along with a vehicle Monday afternoon during a drug operation in south Effingham County.

Investigators arrested Victor Moore, 20, and Joel Maddox, 21, of Savannah. Maddox and Moore were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, conspiracy to commit a crime, and unlawful use of communication facilities.

The arrests were part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of drugs in the community. More arrests are expected.

Both subjects are being held in the Effingham County Jail.
