ECSO busts Savannah pair on drug charges

Effingham County Sheriff’s Office drug investigators arrested two people in south Effingham County on numerous drug charges on Monday.

Investigators received information of a shipment of powder cocaine and a large amount of ecstasy pills coming from Savannah into Effingham County.

Investigators arrested 19-year-old Omar Maurice Smalls of Savannah and 25-year-old Nikia Yourlanda Bowens of Savannah. Smalls and Bowens were both charges with possession of powder cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of MDMA with intent to distribute, conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of controlled substance on, in or near school property.

More arrests are expected in the near future.

Both subjects are being held in the Effingham County Jail.
