State troopers from the Rincon post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated seven traffic crashes during June in Effingham County.
Sgt. 1st Class Riner said the traffic crashes resulted in nine injuries.
Riner said troopers from Post 42 also issued 198 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes nine arrests for driving under the influence, 75 citations for speeding, 66 seat belt violations, and seven child restraint violations. Troopers also issued 163 warnings.
For the July 4th holiday across the state, there were 20 traffic deaths recorded across the state.
There were also 2,293 traffic crashes, 16 of which were fatal, and 848 injuries during the 78-hour holiday period.
