Aysha K. Merrill, Hodgeville Road/Kolic Helmey Road, Rincon – speeding in excess of posted speed limit (58 mph in 35 mph zone), DUI.
Robert Jason Kuharik, Wallace Drive, Springfield – driving while license is suspended.
Manuel Ramone Castillo, Central Avenue, Guyton – failure to obey stop sign, driving while unlicensed, DUI, hit and run, willful obstruction of law enforcement office and concealing evidence.
Theresa Allmond, Hodgeville Road/Ottis Seckinger Road, Rincon – driving while license is suspended; expired tags.
Shirley Luvone Howard, Hwy. 17/Solar Farm, Guyton – driving while license is suspended, operating a low-speed vehicle (moped) on a roadway, driving an unregistered vehicle.
Darius Marquis Garvin, Goshen Road Ext., Rincon – violation of TPO, terroristic threats.
Crystal Danielle Taylor, Long Bridge Road/Stillwell Road – failure to stop at a stop sign, DUI, possession of Schedule I controlled substance (marijuana).
Sharon Trinidad Remigio, Hwy. 30/Roebling Road, Bloomingdale – citations issued for driving with a suspended license, no insurance.
Incidents
I-16/Old River Overpass – a woman reported that while she and her husband were traveling home on I-16, she believed that an unknown person may have discharged a firearm at their car. Deputy investigated but was unsuccessful in determining if any damage to their vehicle was from a bullet.
Grist Mill Court, Rincon – a woman reported that she believed her husband – who moved out two months ago due to a pending divorce – was hiding under a car next door. After she called law enforcement, the woman said she saw her husband running away down the street.
Courthouse Road, Guyton – a woman reported that a vacant house next door was on fire. The woman told deputies she saw the owner of the house burning items earlier in the day. Deputies were unsuccessful in determining if anything of value had been burned.
Hwy. 119S, Guyton – a man reported that tenants in his property allegedly damaged it before leaving March 1. The man alleged several items were missing or damaged; and the tenants were supposed to vacate the residence Feb. 1, but stayed until March 1 without paying rent.
Lakewood Drive, Guyton – a woman reported that a fire next door spread to her property and damaged her privacy fence; the fire also damaged a Georgia Power pole, an Atlantic Waste garbage can, and a River Cruise lite camper.
Burke Drive, Springfield – a man reported that he and his wife had a verbal argument over the woman not paying her share of the rent.
Berryville Road/Union Springs Church Road, Clyo – a woman reported that her ex-husband has shown up at various public locations with picket signs against her.
McCall Road, Springfield – a man and a woman both reported that they received phone calls from someone claiming to be with “Effingham County Jail” telling them to pay $1,844.92 to release a relative from jail. The couple paid more than $4,700 before they realized they had been scammed. (ECSO has reported multiple times it will never solicit funds via phone or text.)
Courthouse Road, Springfield – a man reported that his son and girlfriend who live on the property had a verbal argument. The man reported that he wanted his son to move out.
Maple Drive, Rincon – a man reported that a cable company truck had become stuck in his front yard. He wanted assurance from the cable company that it would pay for and repair the damage to his lawn.
Reedsville Road, Clyo – a woman reported that her live-in boyfriend came home drunk and kicked her out of the house.
Long Bridge Road, Springfield – deputies responded to a domestic dispute that turned physical. The two fighting parties agreed to leave the house for the night. The owner of the house wants the couple evicted.
ECSO office parking lot – an employee of Oglethorpe Power requested that a deputy test another employee for possible intoxication. The second employee agreed to a test, which came back with a BAC of .078.
Beecher Drive, Guyton – a female amazon driver reported she was bit by one or possibly two dogs while delivering a package. A rabies exposure form was submitted to the humane unit.
Russell Lane, Springfield – a woman reported that she believes her cousin may have allegedly taken $320 from the woman’s purse.
Old Augusta Road South, Rincon – a man reported that his vehicle may have been stolen from his driveway. The vehicle is a black Chevy Tahoe, tag RXY0743.
Kildee Lane, Springfield – a man reported that an unknown person may have removed the tag from his vehicle.
Sparrow Lane, Springfield – a woman reported that she noticed her Dell laptop was missing.
Hawk Hammock Drive, Springfield – a woman reported that an unknown person claimed to have “accidentally” deposited $2,800 into her PayPal account and to get the money transferred she had to purchase $2,700 in Home Depot gift cards and call back with the cards’ PIN numbers, which she did. She contacted her bank, which told her to get a police report.
Hwy. 21S, Springfield – an employee of Johnson Tire reported that a customer allegedly had her undriveable vehicle towed home from the business after refusing to pay nearly $6,200 for repairs.
Hwy. 21S, Springfield – the owner of Stateline Golf Carts reported an “older woman” was knocking on doors and windows on the property. He requested a criminal trespass report on her.
ECSO Lobby – a man reported he received a letter from Sycmore Municipal Court regarding a fine for an expired tag. The man contacted the court to say he had never been in Sycamore and doesn’t own the vehicle in question. Sycamore Municipal Court advised him to file a police report regarding identity theft.
Blackberry Circle, Guyton – a man reported he was ongoing relationship issues with his wife when she began throwing his belongings out of the house and leaving them scattered in the front yard. Both parties agreed to separate for the night.
ECSO Lobby – a man and a woman reported that their electronic accounts had been hacked.
Rincon-Stillwell Road – a woman reported that while she was following a county dump truck, a bolt flew off the truck, hit and cracked her windshield.
Old Augusta Road S, Springfield – a man reported that several items were taken from a storage trailer on a job site: a large paint sprayer, generator, pressure washer, floor grinder, drill, air compressor and multiple hoses that go with various other equipment items. The man also reported that locks and chains were cut and missing from the storage trailers.
Stillwater Rod, Bloomingdale – a representative of Bank of America reported on behalf of an elderly client that the man had been scammed out of an online purchase.
Franklins Walk, Springfield – a woman reported she is being harassed by her boyfriend’s ex-wife.
