In-person early voting for the Nov. 4 general election is under way in the state and will run through Oct. 31. Mandatory Saturday voting will be made available across Georgia on Oct. 25.

Early voting in Effingham County can be done at the Board of Elections and Registration Office at 284 Highway 119 South in Springfield. The office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m-5 p.m., and will be open on Oct. 25 as well.

The old Marlow Elementary School at 4752 Highway 17 South in Guyton also will host early voting on Oct. 25 and during the week of Oct. 27-31.

Turnout for the first week of early voting in Effingham County was "steady," elections supervisor Olivia Morgan said Friday.

"We've had about a hundred people a day," Morgan said. "We expect it's going to pick up in the last week."

The “Ga Votes” mobile app is a free resource for voting information. Georgia voters can view their specific sample ballot, find their polling locations, check their voter registration status and track the status of their absentee ballot. All of this information is available on mobile devices on Apple and Android platforms.

To download the app, search for “GA Votes” in the App Store.

Sample ballots also are available at the Effingham County Board of Elections and Registration Office.
