In the fifth day of testimony in the double murder trial of an Effingham man, GBI agent says that the assailant's intent was to leave no one alive.

GBI agent Eugene Howard spent an hour and a half on the stand this morning as the State questioned his findings in the investigation of the shootings that killed Philip and Carey Heidt and severely wounded Linda Heidt in the murder trial against Craig Heidt. Howard said that the killer meant to "kill every soul in the residence." 

The shooter entered the home in the wee hours of the morning of Aug. 25, 2005, fataling shooting Carey Heidt, then Philip Heidt in the head and seriously injuring Linda Heidt, Philip Heidt's wife and Carey Heidt's mother.

Howard was cross-examined by defense attorney Dow bands for more than two hours.
