It was a grueling day in Ebenezer courtroom at the Effingham Judicial Complex in Springfield as jurors heard testimony Thursday from expert witnesses and viewed the home where the crimes took place during the second day of the double murder trial of an accused Effingham man.

Court recessed just after 4 p.m. Thursday to allot key witness Robin Heidt enough time to testify, which could last up to three hours and will begin today at 9 a.m.

Defendant Craig Heidt, accused of slaying his father, Philip Heidt, brother Carey Heidt and of shooting his mother, Linda Heidt folded his hands over his eyes as GBI Special Agent Steven Foster, a crime scene investigator, discussed approximately 150 of the nearly 600 photos he’d taken at the Heidt home the day of the shooting Aug. 25, 2008.
