Georgia Power will have a second planned outage to upgrade the system on Thursday beginning at 9 a.m.

Stan Sparks, area manager with Georgia Power, said the next outage will affect 443 customers.

“The affected areas will be 9th Street west of Highway 21, including 7th Street to McCall Road,” Sparks said. “It will also affect McCall Road from Blue Jay Road to Little McCall Road, and then it will affect Blue Jay Road from McCall Road to Otis Seckinger Road.”

Only the areas identified will be affected by the planned outage, and the customers affected either have been or will be notified, he said.
Sparks said that the non-residential customers in the area should have already received letters notifying them of the outage.

He said the outage is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and will last up to eight hours.

The first planned outage was Sept. 22 and all of the upgrades were completed. All customers’ power was restored “well within the eight-hour timeframe that was communicated,” Sparks said.
