The final scheduled power outage for the current upgrades will be today beginning at 9 a.m.

Georgia Power area manager Stan Sparks said the outage will start around 9 a.m. and last up to eight hours. In case of rain, the alternate date of the outage is Oct. 21.

Sparks said the outage will affect Old Augusta Road from Fort Howard Road to Chimney Road. He said there will be 158 customers who will be impacted, and those in the area received notification.

He said the most recent outage went well, and all customers’ power was restored within the eight hours.

“We’ll be proceeding with our upgrades in the spring,” Sparks said.
