Casting for extras

The casting agent for the movie “Savannah” is looking for extras for the scene to be filmed at the Historic Effingham Courthouse. Extras will be screened Wednesday from 10 a.m.-noon at the Effingham County Recreation and Parks gym in Springfield. They may not be able to see more than 200 potential extras during their time slot and may not need more than 80 extras for the Effingham Courthouse scene.

Hollywood will be making another visit to Effingham County — albeit a brief one.

Production representatives from the movie “Savannah” have scouted the Historic Effingham Courthouse as a location for one of the film’s scenes.

County project manager Adam Kobek said filming of the Effingham scene would take about day. The director, cinematographer and sound and set directors have visited the courthouse. Filming at the courthouse is expected to be one of the last scenes shot in the Coastal Empire.
