Man survives wreck that cuts truck in half

One man was air lifted to a Savannah hospital following a single-vehicle crash this morning which left his pickup cut in half.

According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Old River Road near I-16 early this morning on a report of an accident with injuries. The driver, Dylan Snipes, 20, of Bloomingdale, lost control and his 2004 Chevy Silverado truck which flipped several times. He was extricated out of the vehicle by emergency crews and air lifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Deputies are told his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in this crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
