Ramsey to head Rebels baseball program

SPRINGFIELD -- Chris Johnson stepped down as Effingham County’s head baseball coach last week. Assistant coach Shane Ramsey was selected to replace him.

Ramsey spent the past two years on Johnson’s staff after leading Heritage to the 2019 Class AAAAAA championship. 

Johnson, head of Effingham County’s baseball progam since 2019, will continue his roles with the Rebels’ football and weightlifting programs. He compiled a 50-30 mark at Effingham County, winning the 2019 Region 2-AAAAAA title.
