Angels go 1-2 at national tournament

The South Effingham Angels finished 49th after going 1-2 in the USA/ASA 12 and under girls fastpitch softball national championships in Bloomington, Ind.
 
The Angels dropped their opener 8-7 to the Downers Grove Outlaws before bouncing back to beat the Katy Cruisers 9-1 Thursday night.
 
The Texas Storm Bite downed the Angels 11-1 Friday in the loser’s bracket.
 
The Orange County Batbusters Ray beat the 97 Georgia Impact 6-1 in the championship game.
