ECHS softball team starting bat girl program this season

Girls in grades second through fifth will have the opportunity to participate in one of the Effingham County High School softball team’s home games this year as the bat girl. The bat girl will sit in the dugout with the Lady Rebel softball team and will assist in getting bats and chasing foul balls.

Each bat girl will be announced with the team and will receive a gift from the team.

In order for their child to be a bat girl at a game, parents must fill out an application and submit it via e-mail to Coach Matt Huntley at mhuntley@effingham.k12.ga.us. All applications are taken on a first -come, first-served basis. There are no guarantees that all girls will be able to participate in the program. Once the games are filled, no more girls will be called to participate.

Bat girls must meet Huntley at the home dugout 30 minutes before game time. If bat girls are late, there is no guarantee that they will get to participate. Parents must be present with their child to participate and must stay the entire game.

Parents are not allowed in the dugout.
