Hall finishes 61st at Georgia Open

Wheaton Hall finished with a 5-over 77 in the final round Sunday of the Ziplocal Georgia Open at The Club at Savannah Harbor. 
 
Hall ended up in 61st place with a four-day total of 12-over par. Hall, from Springfield, had birdies on the par-4 second and 14th holes.
 
Hall birdied the No. 1 hole in Thursday’s first round before finishing the day with a 75. He completed the first two days at 4-over after a 73 Friday.
He had three birdies in a four-hole stretch Saturday on his way to a 3-over 75.
 
Athens’ Samuel Del Val, a pro on the mini-tours, won the event on 7,204-yard, par-72 layout at 20-under par. 
 
Former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz aced the 172-yard eighth hole for his sixth career hole-in-one. Smoltz was 2 under Sunday and finished the tournament tied for 29th at 1 under.
 
Hall was one of 14 amateurs to make the cut.
