Line Drive rolls to Thanksgiving title

South Effingham’s Colby May hit .750 for the tournament as the Line Drive won the Thanksgiving Spectacular at Disney World.

In the opener, Line Drive battered the Florida Hawks of Orlando 12-3 as May went 3-for-3 with a triple and a double. Liberty County’s Aaron Hoffer was 2-for-3 with a double and drove in three runs and South Effingham’s Stephen Vaughn doubled and knocked in three.

Savannah Christian’s Jonathan Hester tripled, doubled and drove in five runs in a 10-0 rout of Mickey’s Mashers out of Melbourne, Fla. Skyler Hoffer was 3-for-3 with a triple and Kyle Jones of Savannah Christian doubled and had three RBIs.

May went 2-for-3 and Skyler Hoffer was 3-for-3 with a double in a 4-2 win over the Orlando Baseball Academy.

Hester went 4-for-4 with a double, triple and four RBIs in an 11-3 win over the Poinciana Warriors of Kissimmee, Fla. May was 2-for-3 with a double and Effingham County’s Evan Jarman was 2-for-3.
