Josh Reddick (Pawtucket Red Sox) — The former South Effingham star had perhaps his best game of the season last Monday against Durham. He went 4-for-5 with a homer and two doubles and drove in five runs.
 
After an oblique injury sidelined Reddick, for about a week he wound up hitting .301 for the month of July. He has stayed hot through the first week and a half of August. His average has skyrocketed to .251 with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs. He also has 22 doubles and four triples. His OPS for August a staggering 1.313. Since the International League all-star break, Reddick is hitting .420 with an OPS of 1.205. He has four homers and 10 doubles in that span.
 
Zach Dotson (Gulf Coast League Mets) — Former ECHS star Zach Dotson has been suspended for 50 games. The lefty has not pitched for the Gulf Coast League Mets since July 13. The suspension is immediate and with the GCL Mets’ season ending Aug. 29, effectively ends Dotson’s season, with only 19 games remaining. Dotson tested positive for Methylhexanamine, developed as a nasal decongestant and also used as a nutritional and diet supplement.
 
In 16 1/3 innings, Dotson struck out 18 batters with nine walks. Dotson held opposing batters to a .207 average and had an earned run average of 3.31.
 
Austin Chambliss (Pensacola Pelicans) — Chambliss is 3-0 with a 2.21 earned run average in 15 games for the independent American Association team. He has 19 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings and has allowed only 16 hits. He’s holding opposing batters to a .222 average. Chambliss has not allowed a run in his last three appearances.
