JB Wendelken (Winston-Salem Dash) — Wendelken gave up just one run over seven innings Sunday, striking out five and walking one against Lynchburg. In a loss last Tuesday against Potomac, he allowed four earned runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings.
Wendelken was named the Carolina League pitcher of the week last week after his 13-strikeout performance against Frederick, when he also threw seven shutout innings. For the year, he is 6-9 with a 4.90 earned run average. He has struck out 102 and allowed 145 hits in 119 1/3 innings.
