GUYTON -- The Region 2-AAAAA champion South Effingham Mustangs' soccer season came to a sudden end Tuesday.
Juan Sosa and Jacob Parrish scored for the Mustangs in the second half but it wasn’t enough to overcover a flurry of goals by the fourth-seeded Fayette County Wildcats, who prevailed 4-3 in the opening round of the Class AAAAA playoffs.
The Wildcats scored thrice in a matter of minutes, including a penalty kick.
Jaydon Parrish added a penalty kick for South Effingham with six minutes left, giving him 101 career goals.
See the April 30 edition of the Effingham Herald for more details.
