Blandford takes up the cancer fight

Ella Bothwell, a student at Blandford Elementary School was diagnosed in April, Ella was diagnosed with DIPG, a type of brain tumor. Blandford, along with several others, held fund raisers before school was out and throughout the summer.  

With September being Childhood Cancer Awareness month, the Bothwell family wanted to set a goal to raise $1,000 in donations for the organization CURE Childhood Cancer. Ella is featured on the CURE Childhood Cancer web site.

Sept. 3 was Ice Cream and Dress Down Day at Blandford Elementary and all proceeds received were donated to CURE Childhood Cancer in honor of Ella Bothwell. BES presented the Bothwell family with a check to CURE for $2,710.
