Cadets from the Effingham County High School Air Force JROTC, unit designation GA-938, earned the Unit of Excellence Award for their collective scores at the Southeast Regional Summer Leadership School held at Mercer University from June 13-19.
The Unit of Excellence Award is awarded to the unit (school) whose cadets amass the highest score of the other participating units. Fourteen high schools from Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina attended the annual Cadet Officer Leadership School (COLS), designed to provide cadets the level of leadership training necessary for them to return the next academic year and help operate the cadet corps.
