The Effingham County Retired Educators Association recently held their annual Grandparents Day essay contest. The contest was open to all fifth graders in the Effingham County School system. The essays were judged by local retired educators. There were three winners from each of the eight Effingham County elementary schools. The Effingham Retired Educators would like to thank Duane and Karen Engel, owners of Pappa’s Pizza in Springfield, for their generous donation of prizes for all the winners.
