Over the last several years the teenagers at the First Baptist Church of Springfield have made many positive contributions to, not only their community, but to their nation and to their world.

Recently, 32 students and six adults from First Springfield spent a week of ministry in Helen, where they were active in resort missions. Throughout the day the teens were involved in children’s day camps where they taught the children about God. Also, during the week, they were involved in various service projects that ranged anywhere from washing windows in downtown Helen to picking up trash along the streets.

At night, the teens would perform dramas and speak to travelers about the gospel of Jesus Christ. These service projects and special performances opened doors of opportunity for the students to pray with merchants and tourists and opened up other opportunities of ministry.

Last year, four young men from the group went to India for a summer mission project and one young lady went to Peru. Also, more than 20 students went to the Gulf Coast to help hurricane victims rebuild their lives and their homes.

Many were involved with local Vacation Bible Schools this summer.
