Rev. Guido to help FBC-Springfield dedicate its new prayer chapel
08.12 Michael Guido
The Rev. Michael Guido, "The Sower," will speak at First Baptist Church of Springfield on Aug. 26 at the 10:45 a.m. service.

Rev. Michael Guido will be speaking during the 10:45 a.m. worship service at the First Baptist Church of Springfield on Aug. 26.

On that day the church also will be dedicating its newly constructed prayer chapel at 10:15 a.m. before the worship service.

The new prayer chapel is the first phase of a new developing prayer garden that has been in the church’s long range plans for several years. The prayer chapel is a smaller scale version of one of the early church buildings that was built in downtown Springfield in the mid 1800s.

The church itself has been constituted since 1848. The original church bell has been placed in the chapel belfry and it will be rung during the dedication for the first time in over 50 years.

The prayer chapel will soon be open to the public in an effort by the church to provide a place of comfort and prayer for all of the people of Effingham and surrounding counties.

Rev. Guido will only be speaking in the 10:45 a.m. service. The 8:15 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. services will be held as scheduled.
