Declaration of Independence arrives in Savannah

Cricket Communications along with the non-partisan group Declare Yourself, is bringing the Declaration of Independence to Savannah on Sept. 27 at Massie Heritage Center, located at 207 East Gordon St.

The public viewing begins at 10 a.m. with a day of activities until 3 p.m.  The event offers free admission and free parking with free trolley transportation from the north end of Kroger parking lot located at the corner of Habersham and Gwinnett streets.

Activities include:
• Welcome and reading of the Declaration by Savannah dignitaries
• Performances by AWOL
• Light refreshments
• Prize drawing for free iPod Shuffle, Bluetooth headsets and other great prizes
• Children’s hands-on activities
• Readers Theater
• Voter registration
• Free tours of the Massie Heritage Center
• Gifts for the first 1,000 attendees
• Viewing of an informative Declare Yourself video hosted by Reese Witherspoon
• And much more
